Astrid (62), suffering from chronical pain for 13 years
“My next goal is to reduce also the pain medication”
Eight weeks ago I started my RSQ1 treatments in the clinic “Fysioprakijk De Meer” under supervision of Kim van Wijk. I’m suffering from chronical pains for 13 years, therefore I’m also visiting a rheumatologist and use Band-Aids for reducing pain.
Daily life | When I started this treatment, I had a general pain level of 8 a 9 on a scale of 10. It was hardly possible to sleep, because of the pain I could only sleep in one position. Which results in severe morning stiffness, it takes at least one hour before I could walk normally and start functioning in the daily life. However, I could functioning, my body kept painful for the whole day and as a result of the few sleeping hours I was tired every day.
Treatment | We started with daily treatments of the lower back and after a week we started to combine this treatment with the treatment of my shoulder and knee. After a few treatments I experienced a significant improvement in my back, the pain level is now decreased from a 8/9 to 3/4 and we treat my back only once per three days. Since last week, I see and experience improvement in my knee, my knee was swollen and the circumference decreased with 4 cm. Together with the circumference, also the pain decreased to a more manageable level of 4/5.
Since last week, we also started the treatment of my right arm, neck and shoulder, but because I also suffer from BPPV complaints, we have a more careful approach in this area and this will probably take more time.
Future | Last week, I did driven a car again, the last time I drive before was more than a year ago and a couple of days ago I also attend a meeting without any pain as a consequence. I will continue the treatment with the RSQ1 and it’s my goal to reduce the pain medication.
But even, if we won’t reach this goal, the current results are so beneficial for my quality of life. It improves my physical abilities, but even more important as a result of the pain reduction: my mental state.
