Chaïne Staelens, professional volleyballplayer for international clubs and the Dutch National Team (1997-2012)
“I’ve prolonged my international career with six years”
“The RSQ1 has helped me to act as a professional volleyballplayer on the highest level for 17 years. When I was 20 years old (2000) I already sustain a severe knee injury, resulting in a lot of pain during matches and exercises. Different doctors adviced me to quit playing as a professional, but after a long rehabiliation I returned on the court.”
The benefits from electrotherapy | “As a result of the damage in my knee joint, I wasn’t able to do strength training with heavy loads for my legs. Without this strength training it becomes harder and harder to keep performing, but also to stay fit, without sustaining new injuries. This struggle became to much and in 2006, when I was ready to decide to quit, I discovered this kind of electrotherapy. Since then, I trained almost every day with it. Because it was possible for me to train my upper legs again, without to many loads on my knee joint, I could prolonge my active career with six years. I could treat inflammations effectively, which fastens the rahabilitation periods after an injury. During these last six years I enjoyed playing again and reach a spike height of 3.14 m (it was 3.16 before my injury)”
Finished, but with my own RSQ1 | “The prolongation of my career was still though, because also with a RSQ1, you’ve to exceed your own limits, but it was wort hit. Since May 2013, I quit playing on professional level, but I bought my own RSQ1, it’s still essential to maintain the strength in my upperlegs and spare the damaged parts in my knees. I never doubt about purchasing a RSQ1, because it definitely improved my quality of life!”
