“In our clinic the RSQ1 is one of the first options for a lot of different treatments”
My name is Kim van Wijk (Physio- and Master Manual therapist), together with my collegaue Irene Kuiper, we are the owners of the clinic ‘Fysiopraktijk de Meer’.
Electrotherapy as an eye-opener | During my study physiotherapy, I get in touch with the possibilities of electrotherapy at one of my internships. This was a real eye-opener for me, because at the Dutch schools of Physiotherapy, no attention is given to electrotherapeutic treatments. The achieved results with this electrotherapy were phenomenal, to say the least. These same results, made Irene enthusiastic also and therefore we decide to make the RSQ1 on the most important treatment possibilities in our clinic.
Sports teams | After fulfilling my study as a physiotherapist I worked for three years for the Dutch Nationals Women Volleybalteam. Within this team this electrotherapy was commonly used for acute injuries, complaints of overload, recovery after physical exercise and as a part of the warming-up/ cooling-down and strength training. Within the guidance of Dutch elite athletes the RSQ1 becomes more and more important. Since 2012, I start working for the Dutch Football Association as an external physiotherapist for the women U-19 team. Also, in this team we apply the RSQ1 very much.
Multiple Treatment goals | I have to say that this kind of electrotherapy has a great added value to regular treatmentpossibilities. Even for acute injuries as an inversion trauma, or muscle lesion, as for longterm problems on lower back, or osteoarthritis, or when I have to keep a sports team fit, I’ll use the RSQ1. Due to the combination of electrical currents the RSQ1 is applicable for a lot of different treatment goals.
