Ron Vlaar, professional soccerplayer Aston Villa (2012-2015), AZ (2015-present) and the Dutch National team (2005-present)
“I had so much support from the RSQ1 during the rehabilitation”
Ron Vlaar is captain and one of the famous players of Premier League Club Aston Villa. He started his professional career with AZ in April 2005. After less than a year, the famous Dutch club Feyenoord signed a contract with Ron Vlaar in January 2006. Before he became the undisputed leader of Feyenoord he suffered from two severe knee injuries.
Severe knee injuries | “During the rehabilitation from my second knee injury at the Sports Medical Center of the Dutch Football association, I got introduced to this kind of electrotherapy.” The RSQ1 can be applied in different stages of the rehabilitation process to optimize each seperate stage. The treatment isn’t always relaxing, as Ron Vlaar say: “Heavy and though, but I completely trusted the treatment”
Strength training and his own RSQ1 | One of the most limiting parameters after and during a longterm rehabilitation process is the lack of strength as a result of the atrophy. “I experienced it as pretty cool, that after a few treatments I was able to increase the intensity to the maximum level and train with it . This gives me the feeling that I was very strong. Altogether I had so much support from the RSQ1 during the rehabilitation, that I decided to buy my own RSQ1.”
Recuperation | Besides supporting the strength training program, the RSQ1 can also be applied, especially around elite sportteams and athletes, to support recuperation after physical exercise. “When I’m physically fit, I use the RSQ1 to recover from a heavy match or training.”
